Pastor Adeboye to annoint RCCG children against meningitis as Zamfara governor says outbreak is God’s punishment

The outbreak of meningitis in parts of Nigeria has been claimed to be a punishment from God by Zamfara State governor, Abdulaziz Yari 

But renowned man of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye has instructed his congregants to get their children anointed to prevent getting the disease.

Speaking at a recent service, the General Overseer said, ‘If you have been listening to the news, you will hear of an outbreak of Meningitis. We don’t want any kind of plague to come near our children.

‘So, we want to anoint them and set them apart. So, make sure all children are there at the special Holy Ghost service for childen.’

The disease has claimed close to 400 lives across 16 states in Nigeria.

The charge by the RCCG clergy has been met with criticism from a section of Nigerians who feel medical vaccination is a better preventive move than the spiritual.

Meningitis is an acute inflammation of the membrane covering the brain which is caused by viral or bacterial infection.

It is a deadly disease that kills in a very short time if not treated.
